Take a ride on the Venetian Carousel and treat yourself afterwards in the Victorian Tea Room. It’s a short walk from here to the Tower, so why not follow the Comedy Carpet up and take a tour.

The Blackpool Junior Dance Festival has been running since 1947 with young dancers from all over the World visiting Blackpool to compete. The Festival, traditionally held in the magnificent Blackpool Tower Ballroom, celebrated it’s 50th birthday in 2007 and incorporates the British Junior Open Championships. In 2010 the Festival moved to the Winter Gardens, Empress Ballroom. As tradition states, the Festival always commences on Easter Monday finishing seven days later on the Sunday.

The annual celebration has been running in Blackpool since 2006 and is now a permanent fixture in the resort’s events calendar.

Blackpool Armed Forces Week officially began with the raising of the Armed Forces Day Flag above the Town Hall. At 10:30, Blackpool joined 10 Downing Street, other Local Authorities and Military Associations by raising the flag above the town hall to show support for the service men and women of our Armed Forces.
Sunday morning Cenotaph service and parade. Assemble from 10:30am at the Cenotaph on Blackpool North Promenade (near the Town Hall/North Pier) for the service at 11:00am, and the parade which will begin at approx 11:30am
As is now a traditional event, the Cenotaph Service will be followed at approx 12 noon by the Blackpool Taxi Pull, an annual event celebrating 10 years, which sees local cabbies show off their strength to raise money for Armed Forces charities..
